Class 3 learns about jobs in our community

What do I want to be when I become older?

Class 3 decided to explore our job community, and find out what people do as jobs in their everyday lives.

The first activity was to learn new vocabulary related to jobs such as teacher, police officer, journalist, builder, waiter, etc.  Next, we thought about interviewing one of our parents.

We came up with five questions and here are the some of the answers.

1. Do you like your job?

All the interviewees answered yes, and even some of them expressed that they like their jobs a lot.

2. When did you know that you like doing this job?

We had different responses. Some interviewees expressed from the very first day and others said that it took some time.

3.  What is the most difficult activity in your job?

Most interviewees answered making difficult decisions and traveling abroad away from their families.

4.  What is the easiest activity in your job?

We had many different responses.  Some of the opinions were: communicating and meeting with colleagues and new people, reading, doing physical training and repairing computers.

 5.  What is the best memory from work?

We had also different responses.  Some of the opinions were: attending the Lucia celebration and graduation day, attending a summit meeting, when I see a finished product, and meeting new people.

The final activity was to invite some parents to share their work experiences with us.

After all the activities, our students had some final comments:

I know that one day….

‘I would like to be a football coach’

‘I would like to be a cook’

‘I would like to have my own company’
